How do I use a shampoo and conditioner bar?
Shampoo Usage Instructions: Wet hair and bar liberally. Swipe bar from the roots of your hair down to the tips. Swipe bar crossways along front and back hair line, splashing on additional water. Place bar in storage location, then lather your hair as usual using the pads of your fingertips, gently massaging your scalp while splashing additional water on if necessary. Rinse well.
Conditioner Bar Usage Instructions: While hair is very wet, warm conditioner bar slightly under running water for a couple seconds. Swipe bar down lengths of hair thoroughly. Rinse hair very lightly then swipe the bar over the lengths of hair again on any tangled strands, focusing on ends of hair rather than scalp. Allow to sit for 1 minute. Rinse lightly with warm water for more detangling and benefits or rinse thoroughly for a weightless feel.

How long does one bar last?
This depends on many factors, such as storage conditions, hair type, hair density, frequency of use, etc. To more clearly define this question, however, our shampoo and conditioner bars contain equal active ingredients similar to a 16 oz bottle of a very premium brand liquid shampoo or conditioner.
Will my hair need an adjustment period when switching to bars?
Bar and Bar’s hair systems have been thoroughly tested to be residue-free, however, if you have product buildup from your previous shampoo and conditioner, there may be a short adjustment period, where our luscious lathering shampoo and luxurious conditioner will take a few washes to thoroughly reset the look and feel of your hair and scalp.
Do your shampoo and conditioner bars lather like liquid products?
Yes! Because we are utilizing the exact same ingredients found in a high-end brand of liquid shampoo, the lather feels the same or perhaps better. Also, our bars have been tested against other bar brands currently on the market and ours had superior in-lab foam-tests than the cheaper bar brands. The conditioner bar is far more concentrated and just a few swipes and an extra splash of warm water create a luxurious creamy feel on the hair.
Are Bar & Bar products safe for color-treated or chemically treated hair?
Our bars are free from sulfate detergents and have been formulated with the mildest cleansers on the market suitable for color-treated hair. Also we have carefully pH balanced and added nourishing ingredients that actually assist slowing the fade of hair color and treatments.
